Kalyan: Woman Claims to be Director of Shipping Company, Deceives People Under Pretext of Giving Jobs | Thane news

KALYAN: Police arrested a woman identified as Mansi Khandelwal, who claims to be the manager of a shipping company, for allegedly duping three women for Rs 12 lakh under the pretext of getting jobs for their son in shipping companies.
Mansi and his mother Ragini (who is currently on bail), are involved in separate cheating cases in Mumbai and Thane, and in February this year the duo were arrested by Andheri’s police for duping several investors of Rs 14 crore.
Both were released on bail on April 28, after which Khadakpada police registered a new FIR against Mansi and another person named Nikhil Natesan on May 31 in a cheating case, after which the two defendants were at large.
Police sources said on Wednesday that officials had received specific information that Mansi was hiding at his residence in the Khadakpada area and when cops visited the address, they found the house locked from the outside.
However, realizing that someone was still inside the house, the police knocked and, getting no response, broke the lock and grabbed Mansi.
They then presented her to the Kalyan courtroom, which took her into custody until Friday.
The cops informed that the mother and daughter and the usual offenders and that they claim to be the directors of a certain Shree Tirupati Balaji Marine Enterprises Ltd and the owner of a shipyard near Ganesh ghat in Kalyan.
Police learned that the women’s modus operandi was to ask businessmen to invest in ships, which could attract monthly lakh income as well as to promise jobs to the needy by taking money from them.
