According to him, the company plans to make four trips with a frequency increased to 10 trips from 2022. The planning horizon is until 2030.
The investor will acquire an Oberon ice class seagoing vessel with a capacity of 10,400 tonnes and a deadweight of 12,007 tonnes. The vessel will be acquired under a lease for a period of five years with the right to buy it back later.
The vessel will undergo a two-phase modernization: to ensure its operation in icy conditions, it will undergo the hull overhaul, including project development, procurement of materials and equipment, contractor’s work and certification by a classification society.
After completion of the work, the vessel will be entered in the International Register of the Russian Federation with Murmansk as the port of registry. By early 2021, the company will begin operating the vessel on the Northern Sea Route. The transport service will be provided all year round on the Murmansk-Arkhangelsk-Sabetta road.
