The port of Almeria was visited by a group of ten representatives of foreign tour operators and travel agents as well as representatives of the shipping company Story Lines to see first hand what the province has to offer and to consider the possibility to include it among future tourist destinations, as reported by News from Almeria.
The trip to the port of Almeria, organized by Turismo Andaluz, saw the members of the “Fam Trip”, accompanied by Antonio Martí Bohórquez, a technician from the Junta de Andalucía, visiting the Tabernas desert, the Alcazaba and the center history of Almería, and visit the port of Almería, where they visited the Muelle de Levante – the future cruise terminal.
The tour operators had a meeting with the director of the Port Authority of Almeria, José Rafael Díaz, the director of the Bahía Almeriport Foundation, Fabio Laborda-Ortega, and with the head of the commercial division of the APA, José Antonio Cuesta before their visit to the wharf.
During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the APA, they were informed about a new campaign called “Almeria the charm of the unknown”, a promotion of the Almeria Institutional Cruise Board which aims to offer a different destination to tourists from cruising who are looking for something unique.
